Legislation
           the key to democracy
Good evening ladies and gentlemen. It is wonderful to be here with
you this evening. We are in the midst of a wonderful time in our
history. have government that is responsive to concerns about the
health of the environment, health of humans and health of animals.
We have for the first time in many years a feeling that our voices
can be heard and that the system truly can work.
We have in this country a wonderful system- a two party system.
This system  provides ways to interact with the lawmakers through
the legislature. We therefore can effect rules, effect governing  by
legislation as well as the vote. And indeed we proved what the vote
of the people can achieve. Don't stop though as there is much work
yet to be done. We need to enact good legislation to effect change.
Change in the energy system, change for the good of the
environment, change for the good of the planet, and change that is
good for all creatures human and animals alike. If you want change
then you must participate in the system.
Exercise your right to vote. Be a part of the legislative process.
Research issues important to you and get that information to the
law makers. Let them know your concerns as a constituent, a
    member of
a group as a citizen, and  as a concerned person. The system is set
up to be accessible to ALL!Take advantage of these wonderful
democratic principles- the methods of law making that make this
    country so great:

    advocate
    educate
    legislate

these my friends and colleagues, are the tools to use  to
    make
a long lasting and meaningful difference. If you are not part
of the solution then you are part of the problem."
